About Mellow Jazz Radio

The Mellow Jazz online radio introduces one of the classical movements of jazz music, which is characterized by smooth airy notes, mainly of the saxophone. The latter manages to set such a rhythm to instrumental jazz that makes it unimaginably similar to perfect human vocals. The depth of the tracks of the retro ensemble Quincy Jones or the more modern group “Fourplay” is so sensual and at the same time powerful that it makes you take pleasure in listening to the radio. Smooth or soft jazz was discovered in the second half of the last century. We owe its appearance to Quincy Jones, who popularized the style in America. The interest in the genre with elements of Rhythm & Blues, rock, pop and funk was very great, but the slowness of the compositions did not allow such jazz to enter the big arena. Jazz fusion, as it was initially positioned, remained more designed for radio stations.

The only place where musicians who play Mellow Jazz come every year is distant Indonesia, where people have particularly warm feelings for the style. If we have no opportunity to plunge into the hot embrace of the festival, we can always listen to the musical composition of its outstanding participants by turning on the online radio. Collapse
