Linkin Park is an American alternative rock band founded in 1996 under the name Xero and known as Linkin Park since 1999. The band won two Grammy Awards and broke through with Hybrid Theory, a 2000 debut that sold 24 million copies and later received RIAA diamond certification; Meteora followed with major chart success in 2003.
