On Smooth Jazz Caprice, we play soft, soulful, emotionally rich music 24/7 the kind that sets the mood for a calm evening or simply helps you feel good. It’s music we genuinely enjoy ourselves, which is why we built a station where it never really stops, just flows naturally from track to track.
Smooth jazz took shape in the 1970s, growing out of jazz fusion and blending classic jazz improvisation with touches of funk, pop, and even rock. It started with jazz musicians who wanted to keep the technical skill and freedom of traditional jazz, but wrap it in a more modern, relaxed, almost “electronic” feel.
Over time, the saxophone became the sound most people associate with the genre - warm, expressive, and instantly recognizable.
